A weld crack in a GE turbofan engine may be the reason for BritishAir Boeing777 fire in Las Vegas. An FAA advisory warned about the danger, but GE and Boeing ignored it. After all, it was not the Brits that were smoking pot, but some dummy around here. Sorry about that.
